Our Mission

ASFM is committed to:

  • Enhancing scientific research and capacity building in forensic sciences.
  • Facilitating knowledge exchange and international collaborations.
  • Bridging the gap between forensic medicine and the judicial system for better justice delivery.

Through its annual congresses, publications, and training programs, ASFM provides a platform for continuous learning, networking, and development.

ASFM International Congress

Every year, ASFM organizes its International Congress, a prestigious event that rotates among African countries, alternating between English- and French-speaking nations. This conference serves as a critical forum for forensic experts, policymakers, and legal professionals, discussing key topics such as:

  • Forensic pathology and crime scene investigations.
  • Human rights and medico-legal ethics.
  • Migration, humanitarian crises, and forensic identification.
  • Strengthening Africa’s forensic capacity and intercontinental collaborations.
